4 Girls & Women works alongside members of communities across Nigeria to create a world without cervical cancer. Each day, women and girls across Nigeria are invited and empowered to join this work by bringing forth innovative solutions to increase HPV vaccination for girls and cervical cancer screening for women.

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in Nigeria with over 12,000 new cases and 8,000 deaths annually – that means 33 Nigerian women are newly diagnosed each day and 22 Nigerian women lose their life each day to this vaccine-preventable cancer. 4GW is driven by the shared belief that empowering the female population in Nigeria to learn about primary and secondary HPV prevention tactics will bring new voices and ideas to get us closer to a reality of widespread HPV vaccination for girls and HPV screening for women to end cervical cancer. Leveraging the community-centric culture, lived experiences of mothers, and the bond between a mother and her children creates an opportunity to spark change for a population that has been negatively impacted by HPV and cervical cancer, never replacing those who have lost their lives to cervical cancer to date, but establishing interventions in their honor to prevent more diagnoses and deaths.
